Things To Do in Khao Kho National Park
Khao Kho National Park covers an area of forest that was known for its own very diverse wildlife, beautiful natural tourism places such as the waterfall, caves, isles, islet, cliffs, scenic viewpoint.
Khao Kho became one of the most famous tourist attractions in Phetchabun because of its chilly temperature throughout the year, and its coolness in the winter with beautiful scenery. The national park includes various small and large mountains of the Phetchabun range in Khao Kho district that has the highest summit and elevation at 1,174 metres above sea level. There are also some interesting sites that can be visited around the area aside from its wildlife.
Visit Chedi Phra Borommasaririkkathat
The chedi was built and used to conduct a religious ceremonies such as candlelight procession to pay respect to the relics of the Lord Buddha brought from Sri Lanka and the King’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne.
Explore the National Park’s waterfalls
Yes, you read that right. There’s a lot.
Though you can go to most of the waterfalls in the area, some are bigger and better than the other:
- Tat Fa Waterfall: The biggest and largest waterfall in Khao Kho National Parks, appropriate in the mode of adventure and the person who prefer natural activities such as trekking, rafting along the stream etc.
- Huai Yai Waterfall
- Kaeng Liang Pha: A high-slope cliff waterfalls in the north of Namtok Khan Bandai.
- Khan Bandai Waterfall: Namtok Khan Bandai is a waterfall which looks like the step about 20 steps, is 4 km on the north of Namtok Than Thip, this waterfall is shady beautiful for relaxing.
- Wang Tum Waterfall
- Pha Lat Waterfall: waterfall in the cliff is for everyone who loves adventure. The trail going to the cliff will pass a variety of forest type condition and astonishing viewpoint.
- Samsipkot Waterfall
- Than Thip Waterfall: There’s a large basin and astonishing beautiful beach view in front of the waterfalls.
- Wang Nam Rin Waterfall: Wang Nam Rin is a small waterfall about 5 m high with spring water all the year round.
Walk around the Than Itthi (Weapon Museum)
Than Itthi (Weapon Museum) is also a view point with the beautiful scenery and was once an important strategic base in the past. These days, it is a weapon museum where military tanks remains and weapons used in the battle on Khao Kho and cannons are displayed.
