Amphawa Floating Market
There are a few floating markets around Bangkok. Damnoen Saduak is the most famous and the most photogenic, it is also the most expensive and touristy.
But if you want a more authentic experience and a better atmosphere head down to Samut Songhkram to see the floating market at Amphawa.
Amphawa floating market doesn’t get started until the afternoon and although there are many people coming here it is still off the tourist trail so you won’t see many western faces.
It is located about an hour’s drive outside the city and it is our favorite Bangkok floating market.

I don’t know if you had the opportunity to stay at night but Amphawa is by night is even nicer than by day.
