BB’s Where To Eat Series: Ayuthaya’s Phae Krung Kao Restaurant
Located on the island side of Pa Sak river in the town of Ayutthaya, this restaurant is serving visitors since 1966. With its great location, anyone can easily find it since it’s just near Wat Suwan Dararam Ratchaworawihan. Phae Krung Khao Restaurant is not just any other restaurant by the river, it has an interesting setting. Aside from its stunning interior decoration, it’s an amazing labyrinth of antiques with passages, hidden corner, courtyard, terraces, and stairs which have direct access in the river.
There are also tables right outside in the floating boats that if you are lucky, you may find some boats passing by the river. How’s a stunning view of nature while enjoying your meal? Amazing isn’t it!
Gaeng pa and fried eggplant, cashew chicken and curried pork are just a few of some of the famous dishes of this restaurant but the grilled prawn is the most highlighted dish of Phae Krung Kao Restaurant. Aside from the Grilled Prawn, the delicious River Lobster is also a favourite in this place.
Visitors are usually Thai families so more local than you know, but they also have a menu in English for foreign visitors. You can also try their famous delicious Thai tea here.
