International Day for Street Children 2013
The International Day for Street Children is celebrated every year on 12 April. The day provides a platform for the millions of street children around the world – and their champions – to speak out so that their rights cannot be ignored.
The theme of the day this year is Home Street Home – highlighting that for many children across the world, including in the UK, the street is their home.
Visit the International Day for Street Children website for more information and their key messages for 2013.
Let’s hear their voices.
We have a group on Facebook: Help Kids in Bangkok – join us and let us know what we all can do to make a difference!
i also work with children living and working on the streets in Zimbabwe, Africa and would be glad to learn more as well as share our experiences in trying to help solving the plight of street children.i would be glad to hear from you.
That’s great. We have plans to do more but as I live in Norway for the time being we have not been able to do much concrete stuff except donating clothes, toys and a part of our profit to children homes.
We support International Day for Street Children and have a Facebook group to raise awareness (and to use in the future for organizing things in Bangkok). And we have a cooperation with Rickard at http://www.happysuitcase.com to try to talk to people going to bring extra stuff for the children that we pick up and deliver.
Would love to hear what you are doing over there too.
