Things To Do in Erawan National Park
The Erawan National Park is only 16km from Kanchanaburi and easy to get there by bus, van, or motorbike and definitely a must-see destination in Thailand. Visitors can explore, hike and go for a swim in the middle of the jungle. If you decide to hike, the trail to the the top is not too difficult and only takes about an hour so it’s easy and accessible for everyone.
If you have time, you can also explore a cave or another hiking trail in the national park. With only 3 hours away by drive, it is the most accessible national park from Bangkok that you shouldn’t miss.
Take a refreshing dip at Erawan Waterfall
Many people regard Erawan and easily associated with Erawan Waterfall well, we can’t blame them. Its own beautiful facade that can be accessed by winding jungle trail is one of the reasons why visitors come here in the first place. This is also a good place for a picnic for family and friends, which makes the lower levels of the Erawan Waterfall often crowded. But as the further you go, the fewer people you see.
Explore and discover the 3 Caves:
Phra That Cave,Wang Badan Cave, Rua Cave
These caves are home for lots of stalactites and stalagmites and Rua Cave has the burials of an ancient civilization. Coffins in made from carved out trees can easily be seen inside this cave.
Enjoy the scenic hiking trails
Most people don’t know that The Erawan National Park offers some nice hiking trails. There a 1km long, but easy trail through a leafy bamboo forest which is also an alternative to the usual route leading to the Erawan Falls. If you are the adventurous type, there is a 5km Hin Lan Pee Nature Trail that takes 2-3 hours to walk but you will need a guide to do this.
